I would like to rate myself in minus when it comes to dancing

Says Bollywood Actor Ritesh Deshmukh, who will be seen judging the dancing talent on Star Plus’ upcoming dance reality show India’s Dancing Superstar…

Star Plus is all set to bring forth the dancing talents of all ages across from all over the country through its new dance reality show India’s Dancing Superstars. Bollywood actor Ritesh Deshmukh is excited to be amongst one of the panel of judges along with choreographers Geeta Kapur and Ashley Lobo.

We spoke to Ritesh to know the reasons of taking up the show and about his dancing interests.

Why did you decide to take up the show?
It was offered to me and I liked the concept so, I accepted the offer. The concept of the show decides what I am choosing.

Whose dancing style do you like the most?
I like Govinda’s dancing style the most. Hrithik Roshan too is fantastic when it comes to perfection and Ranbir is good too but when it comes to Govinda, its always fun watching him dance. Govindaji is also my ideal dancer. I would like to watch his movie Aankhein again and again which was directed by David Dhawanji.

What do you feel about working in the Television industry?
Television people work for 12 hours without a break. Hats off to television people for doing things daily. We get 1-2 hours of break while we work in the movies. If not today, then we have the option of doing the scenes tomorrow but things have to be done on the same day in TV. I have a fantastic team working with me and it feels great to work with them.

Do you follow any television show?
I like to follow singing shows and I enjoy watching comedy shows like Comedy Circus. I have been on it as a guest judge and the show has wonderful talent.

How good are you at dancing?
I enjoy dancing and you don’t need to be a great dancer but I would like to rate myself in minus when it comes to dancing after seeing such great dancing talent on India’s Dancing Superstars. No one can compare the talent coming to this stage.

Is this the first time that a TV show has been offered to you?
No, quite a few shows were offered to me but this is one show that I really liked and now I am glad to be a part of this show.

Have you learned dancing as a kid?
Yes, I have learned dancing while watching Mithunda (Mithun Chakravorty).

How was your experience working with different choreographers?
I have done 20 songs with Remo D’Souza, 3-4 songs with Geeta Kapur, 15 songs with Farah Khan, and 15-20 songs with Bosco Ceaser. It has been a great journey for me to work with so many choreographers.

According to you, what matters more for a contestant to win – hard work or luck?
The contestants get selected because of their hard work. Their constant hard work keeps them going. Luck can save a contestant for one time but one’s talent can make a contestant keep going all the time.
