It is important to have your in-laws accept you as the bahu of the house: Ishita Dutta

As already reported by us earlier, Poonam (Ishita Dutta) will be facing a lot of difficulties post her marriage with Akash (Rahul Sharma) in Star Plus’ Ek Ghar Banaunga (Village Boy Productions).

We talk to the beautiful Ishita to take her views on a situation like this.

“It is very important that your in-laws accept you as the bahu of the house since a married woman has to stay with her in-laws all her life. Marriage is an institution that is a lifetime commitment and if a cordial relation doesn’t exist between them (the married one and her in-laws), it gets very difficult to carry the relationship further,” Ishita observes.

For now, Poonam is quietly handling the taunts and bickering of her in-laws, but for how long will she bear all this, we ask her. “It is just the beginning and Poonam is a woman who will not misbehave with anyone. She will definitely keep her patience for she knows that she has no one to whom she can talk to about her woes and pains. Another point is that Poonam got married to Akash (Rahul Sharma) to keep her parents happy. So, it is her responsibility to not let them know of this situation.”

In her new home, though the condition is very difficult, she does have some support coming from her husband. “In such a situation, a husband’s support is very important and Poonam is getting just that.

But what saddens Akash a lot is that she does not have any feelings for him. The family’s hatred is aimed at Poonam who they blame to be the cause of Prarthna (Prachi Parab)’s broken engagement,” avers the petite actor.

Ishita also adds that in such situations, a woman needs to be strong; and adjustment is the key word. “But if the water flows above the head, a woman should definitely take a stand,” she quips.
