Nikhil Sharma to enter Star Plus’ Diya Aur Baati Hum in a negative role

The Rathi family in Shashi-Sumeet Productions’ popular show on Star Plus, Diya Aur Baati Hum will have a new problem in their lives, with the entry of actor Nikhil Sharma.

Nikhil will essay the character of Balkrishna, a young Marvari boy who has come to claim the Mithai shop of Sooraj (Anas Rashid) back.

A source states, “This will be a very strong negative cameo role. Balkrishna will claim that he is the real owner of Sooraj’s shop, having returned to take it after 15 long years. His entry will happen when he will all of a sudden barge into Rathi house and order all in the family to give him his property back.”

Nikhil who has done shows like Kasturi, Rang Badalti Odhani, Ram Milaayi Jodi, Tujh Sang Preet Lagaai Sajna, Jai Jag Janani Maa Durga, Jodha Akbar was on a 8-9 months hiatus from television. The reason for this being that he was busy shooting for his maiden Hindi movie as the lead titled Tere Ishq Mein.
Getting back to the Star Plus show, we hear that a promo has been shot for the same, which will mark this character’s entry into the show. The promo will go on air very soon.

When contacted, Nikhil told us, “Yes, this is the first time I have taken up a cameo role. I am busy dubbing for my first movie. So it is a bit difficult to do a daily soap. So the best thing that I could grab was a strong cameo role, which will get noticed. I have a challenging role to play in Diya Aur Baati Hum, is what I can say.”
